The reason why the watchmaker Ferdinand Adolph Lange decided in 1845 to settle in the town of Glashütte was not trivial. He wants to contribute to reducing unemployment. To do so, the state gives it an advance allowing it to train 15 watchrs. The following years will be flourishing and in 1875, the sons and grandsons inherited the already renowned manufacture.
During the Second World War the German Air Force, the Deutsche Luftwaffe, commands Lange & Söhne watches of aviator bracelets with movements of gusset watches and 55mm box diameter. In parallel, the firm also offers civil watches in wrist until 1945.
The proposed box is an edition limited to 101 copies dating from 2003. Lange & Söhne called it Luna Mundi.
